Aircraft Fueling Hose Tester
RONTEIX supplies aircraft fueling hose testers to verify the heavy-fuel delivery performance of aircraft refueling systems.
Overall Dimension: 21-1/8″ x 19-3/4″ x 19-3/4″
Our testers conduct pressure resistance tests on primary and secondary refueling hoses. They test their pressure resistance at operating pressures of 150 PSI, 300 PSI, and 600 PSI—that is, while the hoses are filled with aviation fuel and remain connected to the refueling equipment.
How to use
- Stretch the hose to its full length.
- Ensure that the interior of the hose remains under vacuum, and that the reel and nozzle can withstand 300 PSI pressure. Replace the wing nozzle with a pipe cap equipped with a vent valve.
- Close the reel inlet valve.
- To prepare, connect the hose to the quick-release coupling on the hose tester, and then connect it to the nozzle.
- Increase the pressure to 300 PSI to prevent leaks, bubbling, or tears. If any defects are found that penetrate the covering material and reach the reinforcement layer, the test is considered a failure, and testing should be stopped.

Aircraft Fuel Hose vs. Automotive Fuel Hose

In terms of functionality, aircraft fuel hoses ensure flight safety, can withstand extreme environments, and have received airworthiness approval. Automotive fuel hoses, on the other hand, are primarily designed to be compatible with ethanol or biodiesel and to reduce emissions and leakage.
In aircraft fuel systems, our aircraft fuel hoses must be compatible with 100 LL Avgas or Jet-A turbine fuel. In automotive systems, our automotive fuel hoses must be compatible with unleaded gasoline, diesel, ethanol-blended gasoline, biodiesel, engine oil, and other fluids.
In terms of permeability and service life, aircraft fuel hoses are made of low-permeability materials that prevent fuel from permeating the outer wall of the hose. Automotive fuel hoses are made of FKM material or NBR, which offer some resistance to fuel permeation; however, older hoses are prone to damage.
Aircraft Flexible Fuel Hose vs. Rigid Fuel Line

RONTEIX aircraft fuel hoses are primarily used between the engine and the fuselage, near the firewall, and at connections to pumps or valves. In these applications, our hoses must be able to bend or accommodate relative movement, making flexible hoses the ideal choice.
RONTEIX rigid fuel lines are used for fixed routing in the fuselage or wings, as well as for main fuel lines. Their rigid nature makes these hoses suitable for long-distance applications with no relative movement.
| Project | Aircraft Flexible Fuel Hose | Rigid Fuel Hose |
| Vibration Tolerance | Strong; absorbs vibrations, pressure pulsations, and thermal expansion and contraction | Controlling Vibration Using Brackets and Clamps |
| Installation Space | Cramped, winding, or misaligned installation | Precise Pipe Bending, Alignment, and Support |
| Connection Method | Crimped Hose Assemblies, AN/MS Fittings, Quick-Release Clamps | Flare, flareless, flanged, or welded joints |
| Maintenance Requirements | Replacement cycle | Longer lifespan |
If you need flexible transitions in vibration-prone areas, near moving parts, in the engine compartment, or in fire-resistant zones, you can choose aircraft fuel hoses.
If you need to transport fuel in a fixed structure, rigid fuel lines are more stable and durable.

Testimonials
PTFE: Aircraft fuel hoses use PTFE as a liner, providing high-temperature resistance and low permeability to petroleum-based fuels, and are available in corrugated or smooth tube configurations.
Stainless steel wire braid: PTFE fuel hoses feature an additional reinforcement layer on the surface, which enhances pressure resistance, pulse resistance, and fire resistance.
NBR: Our hoses use NBR as the inner tube for petroleum-based fuels, offering excellent oil resistance.
FKM: Our hoses use FKM material, suitable for high-temperature fuels and sealing applications.
CR: We typically use this material for outer jackets or in low- to medium-pressure hoses; its abrasion resistance and weather resistance are superior to those of NBR.
Aramid/textile braid: Used as a reinforcement layer in PTFE or rubber aircraft fuel hoses, aramid/textile braid is lightweight and enhances flexibility.
Silicone fire sleeve: The sleeve can serve as a necessary external protective layer for hoses in engine or fire-prone areas.
In terms of temperature resistance, PTFE has a wider temperature range, withstanding temperatures from -54°C to 240°C. Rubber aircraft fuel hoses, on the other hand, can withstand temperatures from -40°C to 121°C.
In terms of permeability, PTFE aircraft fuel hoses have a higher fuel vapor permeability than rubber aircraft fuel hoses, which helps reduce evaporative emissions and fuel odors.
In terms of flexibility, PTFE aircraft fuel hoses are relatively stiffer, have a larger minimum bend radius, and require more installation space.
RONTEIX rubber aircraft fuel hoses are typically replaced every 5 to 8 years, while some fire-sleeve hoses need to be replaced every 8 years or after 1,000 flight hours.
RONTEIX PTFE aircraft fuel hoses are typically replaced based on their condition. They should be replaced if they show signs of kinking, leakage, wear, bulging, deformation, or damage to the steel braid.
Generally speaking, automotive fuel hoses cannot be used in aircraft; hoses that meet aviation certification standards and are fire-resistant and heat-resistant are more suitable.
PTFE aircraft fuel hoses typically fail due to kinking, broken filaments, abrasion, connector displacement, or damage to the fire-resistant sleeve.
Rubber aircraft fuel hoses typically fail due to aging and hardening, cracking, swelling, inner layer degradation, and cold-flow deformation.
You should verify that the hoses meet AS, ISO, or aircraft standards; confirm the hose material type, pressure and temperature ratings, fitting standards, fire-resistant zone requirements, dimensions, and bend radius; and check for media compatibility.
