What is a RONTEIX turbo hose?
RONTEIX turbo hoses, also known as turbocharger hoses or turbo tubes, are used to connect the turbocharger, the engine’s intake system, and the intercooler.
What does a turbo hose do?
Transporting Pressurized Air
Our turbo hoses deliver the high-volume, high-pressure air compressed by the turbocharger to the intercooler. Then into the engine’s intake manifold. The more oxygen delivered to the combustion chamber, the more fuel the engine burns, resulting in a greater increase in horsepower and torque.
Absorbing Vibrations and Compensating for Movement
Our silicone or rubber turbo hoses act as shock absorbers, isolating vibrations and accommodating physical displacement.
Accommodating Thermal Expansion
Our turbo hoses can accommodate thermal expansion and contraction while maintaining a tight seal.
Preventing Ballooning
Our turbo hose prevents the hose from expanding, ensuring that 100% of the compressed air reaches the engine.
Ensuring System Seal
Our turbo hoses use beads that interlock with clamps to form a mechanical lock.

Testimonials
Clamp and Installation Issues
Over time, clamps may wear out or come loose, making it impossible to secure them to the hose. Additionally, improper alignment, incorrect installation, or tightening torques that do not meet specifications can all compromise the seal.
Material Degradation
The high temperatures in a turbocharger system can cause the hose material to age. Whether made of rubber or silicone, prolonged exposure to temperatures exceeding 260℃ can cause the material to melt and crack.
Abnormal System Pressure
Excessive boost pressure from the turbocharger or a malfunctioning relief valve can cause abnormally high pressure in the turbo hoses.
External Factor and Mechanical Damage
Severe vibrations during engine operation, dust or dirt clogging the hose, or accidental impacts can cause mechanical damage to the turbo hose.
You need to check whether the turbo hose has been subjected to high-pressure impacts, whether the clamps have failed, or whether the hose is slipping due to oil contamination or material degradation. In particular, you should focus on inspecting the operation of the pressure relief valve, the torque of the clamps, and the cleanliness of the connections.
When a turbo hose cracks, the following symptoms occur:
Hissing Sound of Pop/Bang
Power Loss and Slow Turbo Spool
Black Smoke from Exhaust
Active Check Engine Light
Rough Idle or Hard Starting
Fuel Inefficiency
If your vehicle has traveled 60,000–80,000 kilometers or is 3–5 years old, we recommend replacing the standard turbo hoses. If your vehicle has traveled 100,000 kilometers, you should consider replacing the turbocharger coolant hoses.
If you notice unusual engine noises, air leaks, increased fuel consumption, a loss of power, or abnormal idling, you should replace the turbo hoses immediately.
During routine maintenance, if you notice visible damage to the turbo hoses, worn connections, or material hardening, we also recommend replacing the entire set or using specialized hoses that meet the original equipment manufacturer’s specifications.
3/4 mm ID: Primarily used to connect small control components, including the control ports of pressure relief valves, FPRs, and exhaust bypass valves.
- 6 mm ID: Primarily used for higher flow rates or to connect boost controllers.
- 8 mm ID: Primarily used for critical areas that must withstand higher pressures or flow rates.
- 12.7 mm ID: Suitable for larger connection points in turbochargers or intake systems.
RONTEIX turbo inlet pipes are performance-enhancing components—an essential choice for those seeking ultimate power, track driving, and turbo system upgrades.
RONTEIX silicone turbo tube offers excellent elongation. This stiffer-textured tubing, featuring multiple layers of reinforcement, has a maximum elongation at break of less than 50%.
Hot Water Soak
Soak the ends of the silicone turbo hoses in hot water at 60°C–80°C for 5–10 minutes to soften them. Once softened, the hose slides more easily over the fitting.
Lubrication Method
Apply silicone grease or soapy water to the inner walls of the hose and the outer surfaces of the fittings to reduce friction.
Mechanical Stretching Tools
Using a hose expander, insert the expandable mandrel into the hose, and then use a lever or hydraulic pump to expand it.
For emergency repairs, we recommend cleaning the oil and dust from the crack, then using epoxy tape or silicone self-bonding tape to wrap the crack in overlapping layers. Finally, you’ll need to use clamps to secure the outer layer of tape.
For small cracks or minor damage, you can cover the area with a rubber gasket and secure it with a metal repair clamp. Alternatively, you can use self-tapping screws to secure the loose end of the pipe and prevent it from coming loose again.
If the middle section of your hose is torn or broken, you can slip both ends of the hose onto the couplings and then secure them with T-bolt clamps or stainless steel pipe clamps.
Loss of Power and Slow Acceleration
The engine struggles to reach higher RPMs during acceleration, passing, or climbing hills, resulting in a decline in overall performance.
Abnormal Combustion and Exhaust
The exhaust emits black smoke, blue smoke, or backfires.
Unstable Idling or Unusual Noises
The engine shakes at idle, stalls, has air leaks, or emits a high-pitched whistling sound caused by pressure loss.
