How to Install Silicone Coolant Hoses?
Step 1: Ensure the engine has cooled down completely, then open the drain plug on the radiator cap to drain the coolant.
Step 2: Remove the retaining clips from both ends of the old hose, then gently twist it to break the seal; avoid using sharp tools that could cause scratches.
Step 3: Using properly sized clamps, install the new silicone coolant hose into its original position within the cooling system. Tighten the clamps to prevent deformation or damage.
How to Choose the Right Silicone Coolant Hose for Your Vehicles?
Define the Application & Environment
- You need to identify whether it is part of the main radiator circuit, heater hose, turbocharger cooling system, or a bypass line.
- Assess whether the line passes through tight spaces and requires molded elbows or straight sections.
- Also, determine if it will come into contact with engine oil, fuel, or other fluids; contact with oils necessitates the use of fluorosilicone or PTFE liners.
- It is necessary to determine in advance whether to install on high-vibration components to avoid friction and wear.
Get the Dimensions Right
Measure the inner diameter, length, bend length, and leg length of straight and bent pipes.
Select the Right Construction
3-ply, 4-ply, and 5-ply reinforcements determine the respective strength and pressure resistance. You need to ensure that the hose’s maximum temperature rating exceeds the system’s highest operating temperature.
Verify Quality & Compatibility
Ensure the hoses are compatible with the specific type of coolant used; verify that the inner walls are smooth and uniform, the outer layers are free from blistering or uneven coloration, and the parts are suitable for the specific vehicle model.

Silicone Coolant Hose vs Vacuum Hose

RONTEIX silicone coolant hoses are used to circulate coolant between the engine, radiator, water pump, and heater core. Our vacuum hoses primarily serve to transmit pneumatic signals, conveying vacuum pressure to various control components.
- In terms of material, our vacuum hoses are primarily made of standard rubber, plastic, or nylon; their small size eliminates the need for heavy fiber reinforcement layers. In contrast, coolant hoses utilize silicone and incorporate multiple layers of polyester or aramid fibers to withstand internal system pressure.
- In terms of shape, most vacuum hoses are straight pipes that can be cut to length during installation or bendable using right-angle connectors. Coolant hoses can be molded into specific shapes, such as S-shaped, U-shaped, and T-shaped.
- Our silicone coolant hoses are required to withstand the internal pressure of the cooling system, typically operating at 15-30 PSI, with a burst pressure of 3:1. Vacuum hoses, on the other hand, need to withstand vacuum suction at 20-30 inHg, with operating temperatures below 100-140℃.

Quality Test
After being molded and vulcanized, RONTEIX silicone coolant hoses must undergo dimensional testing, pressure testing, leakage testing, and temperature resistance testing. We guarantee that every hose fully complies with the standards of various countries and vehicle models. If you are looking for high-quality, consistent silicone coolant hoses, please contact us.
We used a vernier caliper and a digital caliper to take multiple measurements of the outer and inner diameters at a distance of 25 mm from the end of the hose, while carefully controlling the amount of force applied. We measured the wall thickness at a distance of 15 mm from the end of the hose, taking multiple measurements around the circumference.
We need to conduct preliminary pressure resistance testing, control the pressure-increase procedure, and capture the moment of burst to record the peak pressure and determine whether the product will leak or deform under stable pressure. This allows us to verify the hose’s leak tightness, structural integrity, and maximum pressure rating under static pressure.

Testimonials
RONTEIX silicone coolant hoses can withstand temperatures from -60℃ to 200℃. They will not become brittle, crack, soften, or deform under extreme cold or high-load and high-temperature conditions.
Yes, our silicone hoses are suitable for coolant systems and are the perfect choice for coolant. If you plan to use RONTEIX silicone coolant hoses in contact with engine oil or fuel vapors, we recommend choosing fluorosilicone hoses or PTFE-lined hoses.
RONTEIX silicone coolant hoses should not be forced into place by bending or stretching them.
Before installation, clean any residual old coolant, rust, or sharp burrs from the fittings. You can apply a small amount of silicone grease or pure water to the metal fittings; do not use petroleum jelly or dish soap.
If the hose is difficult to insert, you can use a heat gun or hot water to slightly warm the end of the silicone hose, then push the hose straight into the fitting. Twisting the hose can cause it to bunch up, resulting in an uneven seal.
RONTEIX silicone coolant hoses typically leak due to improper clamp installation, installation stress or incorrect sizing, system overpressure or overheating, or chemical corrosion.
Improper Clamping
Insufficient torque leaves the T-bolt clamp insufficiently tightened, while overtightening crushes the pipe wall, creating a path for coolant leakage.
The solution is to tighten the T-bolt clamps or constant-force spring clamps to the specified torque, then recheck after a warm-up cycle.
Wrong Fitment
Forcibly bending a straight pipe, or using the wrong angle or length, will make it difficult to fit the pipe in.
System Over-Pressure
Due to cylinder head gasket failure, thermostat jamming, or radiator cap malfunction, the silicone hose cannot withstand high pressure and bursts or is detached.
T-Bolt Clamps
T-bolt clamps are wide and flat, allowing clamping force to be evenly distributed over a 360° wide area. They are also highly vibration-resistant and will not cut into the walls of silicone hoses. Our T-bolt clamps are primarily designed for main radiator hoses, large-diameter hoses (over 1.5 inches), and high-boost turbo applications.
Constant-Tension Spring Clamps
Spring clamps are suitable for heating pipes, bypass pipes, and narrow spaces where T-bolt wrenches cannot reach. These clamps automatically adjust to dimensional changes, maintaining constant pressure.
Wire Loop Clamps
Our wire loop clamps are ideal for professional racing modifications and compact engine bays. They provide excellent, constant tension and feature a low-profile design suitable for tight spaces.
Replacing silicone coolant hoses can significantly reduce the risk of old coolant hoses aging and bursting, thereby enhancing the reliability of the cooling system.
If you are using reinforced silicone coolant hoses, you will need to buy molded elbows or use multiple connectors for cable routing; do not attempt to bend them.
RONTEIX silicone coolant hoses have a lifespan of over 10 years, but their lifespan usually ends due to improper installation, chemical corrosion, physical damage, or system failure.
