Molding Process Hoses
RONTEIX manufactures rubber and silicone hoses by using the above mould tools to finish the products as follows:
- wrapped silicone hoses
- mandrel-formed rubber hoses
- compression-molded rubber hoses
- silicone extrusion hoses

Hose Forming Mandrel
In automotive rubber hose and silicone hose manufacturing, we use metal mandrels. But their manufacturing processes vary as follows:
- Hand-built (hand-wrapped) Silicone Hoses: Wrapped silicone hose manufacturing involves winding silicone sheets and textile-reinforced silicone sheets around a metal forming mandrel, followed by compression and degassing, and finally vulcanisation. The metal forming mandrel can be shaped into elbows, reducers or customised shapes to produce silicone hoses of various shapes and internal diameters.
- Mandrel-Formed Rubber Hoses: The mixed rubber compound is first extruded into an unvulcanised hose blank. The hose blank is then fitted onto a forming mandrel to achieve the required shape before being cured in a vulcanisation chamber to permanently set its final form.
Compression Mould
Complex automotive rubber hoses and rubber spare parts are typically manufactured by compression moulding. The compounded rubber is placed into a compression mould, where heat and pressure are applied as the upper and lower mould halves close. The rubber is then vulcanised under controlled temperature and time, after which the finished part is demoulded and trimmed.

Extrusion Dies
Silicone vacuum hose manufacturing is an extrusion process; typically, the size of the die head determines the inner diameters and wall thicknesses of the vacuum hoses produced. Our manufacturing flow: silicone compounding – feeding – extrusion – die/forming – vulcanization – pulling – cooling – cutting.
