FKM Rubber Features
FKM (fluoroelastomer) rubber used by RONTEIX withstands high temperatures, fuel and chemical corrosion (low permeability), and it is widely used in automotive engines, fuel systems, aviation, chemical industry, and amongst other fields. Properties as follows:
- Temperature resistance: It can withstand temperatures ranging from –20 °C to +200 °C; with the addition of a special formulation, this can be extended to over +250 °C, and it can withstand operating temperatures of up to +300 °C for short periods. Consequently, its high-temperature resistance is superior to that of NR, NBR and EPDM.
- Fuel & Chemical resistance: It is resistant to fuels such as petrol, diesel, bio-diesel, engine oil, transmission oil, hydraulic oil, automatic transmission fluid (ATF) and lubricants, as well as chemicals such as hydrocarbon fuels, mineral oils, synthetic oils, aromatic hydrocarbons, solvents and hydraulic fluids.
- Ageing resistance: Excellent resistance to ozone, UV and oxidation.

Applications
FKM rubber materials used by RONTEIX are suitable and applied in the following fields:
- Automotive: As it is resistant to various automotive fluids such as fuel and hydraulic oil, as well as high temperatures and various forms of chemical corrosion, it is widely used in automotive fluid lines, such as fuel hoses, turbocharge hoses, oil cooler hoses, EV battery cooling hoses, etc.
- Aerospace: FKM offers exceptional performance across the board, though it is also costly; as such, it is widely used in the aero-engine sector for aircraft fuel hoses, hydraulic hoses and engine seals, owing to its resistance to extremely high temperatures, fuel compatibility and reliability.
- Chemical & Petrochemical: Due to its exceptional chemical resistance, FKM is used in the chemical industry for chemical hoses, pump seals, valve seals, gaskets and fuel transfer hoses.
